930am Hobart Port

Your adventure begins as you disembark at Hobart Port, where our friendly Tassie Tours team will be waiting to welcome you. 

The Meeting Place is just through the Terminal Building and down the ramp to the left. Look for TASSIR TOURS Sign by the large 02 Sign. Our comfortable, air-conditioned coach will be ready to whisk you away by 9.30am, ensuring a prompt start to your Tasmanian journey.

Mount Wellington (Kunanyi)

Visit the majestic Mount Wellington, locally known as Kunanyi. This towering peak dominates the Hobart skyline, offering unparalleled views of the city and its surrounding wilderness. As we ascend to the summit, you'll be captivated by the changing landscapes—from dense rainforest to subalpine flora.

Once at the top, take in the sweeping panoramic views. On a clear day, you can see as far as the distant peaks of the Southern Ocean. The summit offers some of the best photo opportunities in Tasmania. For the adventurous, there’s time for a short walk to explore the rugged beauty of the mountain before we head back down.

Explore Richmond Village

We'll journey to the historic Richmond Village, a picturesque town just outside Hobart. Known for its beautifully preserved Georgian architecture, Richmond is like stepping back in time. Stroll through the quaint streets, where you’ll find charming shops, cozy cafes, and the iconic Richmond Bridge—the oldest stone bridge in Australia.

A visit to the Richmond Gaol is a must. This historic prison offers a fascinating glimpse into Tasmania’s colonial past. As you wander through the old cells and exercise yards, you’ll learn about the harsh conditions endured by the convicts who once lived here.

Encounter Native Wildlife at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary

After soaking up the history in Richmond, we’ll head to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, a short drive from Hobart. This sanctuary is dedicated to the conservation and rehabilitation of Tasmania’s unique wildlife. Here, you’ll have the chance to meet some of Australia’s most iconic animals. Get up close and personal with Tasmanian devils, kangaroos, and koalas. Knowledgeable guides will share insights into the sanctuary’s efforts to protect these species, making this visit both educational and heartwarming. Return to Hobart Port

After a day filled with stunning scenery, fascinating history, and delightful flavors, we’ll make our way back to Hobart Port. You’ll have time to reflect on the day’s adventures and perhaps pick up a souvenir or two from our e-Guide desk before reboarding your ship.
